“Macon, a biodynamic producer, lots of character, no new oak. It’s a potent combo. The wines from this producer deliver such satisfaction and depth of flavour, and likewise drinkability. Very good wines. And at the prices, should be part of your Burgundy repertoire if you’re into good gear, and don’t want over-oaked, over-done wines from the fancy end of the region. Succulent white with strong minerality, juicy, ripe apple fruit characters, a touch of honey-butter and all of this reflected between scents and flavours. Has a feel of concentrated fruit character, a good dusting of spice, a slightly bitter edge but in a pleasing sense and in all this a lemongrass/ginger/lemon tea kind of Thai spice element too. It’s a ripper drink, generous, and showing the flex of chardonnay unadorned. Lovely.”
