Melbourne Champagne Festival

The 2016 Melbourne Champagne Festival is the most exciting free event this year. We have hand picked the best boutique, small-production grower Champagnes to showcase at Wine Republic venues across Melbourne.

These are not your big-brand Champagnes sold everywhere that you’ve been drinking for years. You’ll be experiencing rare, hard to find bubbles that have long been the secret of serious collectors and sommeliers the world over. After trying these amazing wines you will never want to buy another bottle of Moet or Veuve again.

What’s champagne without a little something to go with it?

Melbourne’s best award winning chocolatier has worked to put together a fantastic selection of KoKo Black treats to enjoy with the fabulous Champagnes on tasting.

FEATURING THE BEST CHAMPAGNES IN THE WORLD

AGRAPART

Agrapart is one of the top rated Champagne estates in France and is produced in very small quantities. Hailed as one of the best Champagne houses in the world, Agrapart is a top example of a fine Grower’s Champagne.

Grower’s Champagnes are made from grapes grown in the very estate owned by the winery that makes the Champagne, which is rare as most large houses buy and source their grapes from different vineyards all over the region.

OLIVIER HORIOT

Olivier Horiot is part of the Horiot family that has generational roots in the Champagne region. This young winemaker is causing a stir, making wines that reflect his cheeky personality and pushing the boundaries of what is considered the “norm”.

Olivier experiments in tiny batches making rare Champagnes some as limited as 150 bottles and we are extremely excited to be able to access his wine here in Australia. This is best new Champagne we have tasted this year, we cannot wait for you to try it.

DELAMOTTE

The sister boutique Champagne house of the highly revered Champagne Salon, Delamotte has been a benchmark Champagne house since 1760.

Whilst we would all love to lounge around drinking Champagne Salon all day long, Delamotte produces non vintage Champagnes from the same vineyards at a much more affordable price, with the same care and quality as you would expect of a house affiliated with Salon.

This is certainly a Champagne you would want to serve to impress your most discerning dinner guests.
