Opawa

Opawa (or "Ōpaoa" meaning "Smoky River" in Maori) is named after the Opawa River that is the source of some of the delicious aromas and flavours that make up the Opawa vineyard. Not only is this special vineyard home to some unique soil that makes the wines stand out, but it is also home to various endanged New Zealand birdlife and part of Opawa's ethos is preserving and giving back to the wetland ecosystem and it's inhabitants, whilsts utilizing the rich soil to create a range of wines that truely show how special the reigon is.
