Malbec
Achaval-Ferrer
Argentina - Mendoza
Red Varietal - Medium
Argentina

Description

From the revered Argentinian producer Achavel-Ferrer, who produced the first 100-point score from The Wine Advocate, their entry-level Malbec still punches well above the mark for "entry-level". The vineyard hosts un-grafted vines of over 100 years of age, where they use traditional methods such as manure instead of fertilisers, to keep their wines up to the highest level of expression. Yields are kept low too, with no fining or filtration. A must-have for the Malbec collection.

James Suckling 93 pts: ”Plenty of fruit on the nose with a nice reductive and peppery edge. Dark cherries and strawberries with spiced plums and violets. Firm, flavourful and medium- to full-bodied on the palate with tight, fine-grained tannins. Fresh, fruit-oriented finish."
