Nebbiolo
Alberto Oggero
Italy - Piedmont
Red Varietal - Light
Italy

Description

Sourced from the sandiest plot in Alberto's catalogue, sitting at around 280m in Santo Stefano Roero. Vines are aged at 25 years old and host a strong southerly aspect, taking in ample sunlight. Harvested by hand, destemmed and left on skins for only 8-10 days, followed by a soft pressing, the goal for Alberto here was to create a wine that combines freshness and expression of the soils from which they grew, pulling back on the strength often associated with Nebbiolo. In fact, at no point was oak used in the winemaking process, instead using concrete tanks. The final product was unfined and unfiltered too.

Energetic bright red fruits are what this is all about, while a rosy note can be discerned underneath. We'd even suggest chilling this down slightly on a warm day, if you're into that.
