Riesling
Bass River
South Gippsland
Riesling - Dry
Australia
Vegan Friendly

Description

As one of the oldest grape growers and winemakers from Southern Gippsland, Bass River continues to create wines that showcase the best of the region.

Their latest Riesling has been hand picked and whole bunch pressed in a very small batch, giving us lots of crisp apple and citrus notes plus a decent bit of minerality that leave the flavours lingering on your palate, leaving you wanting another bottle.

Bass River's House Block was planted over 20 years ago, an irregular parcel located close to the winery and cellar door. The aspect is slightly south-east with an elevation of 30–40m above sea level and the rows run north to south. The estate leans towards a maritime cool climate and produces vegan wines, using organic principles, that represent a sense of place and regionality. The estate land is bordered by the Bass River and the southern end of the Strzelecki Ranges.

'Great wine doesn't just happen – it takes a lot of love, care and dedication to nurture the vines, creating the foundations for premium wine.'
Frank Butera, Winemaker
