Description

Commune of Buttons’ Gloria Vineyard is home to the oldest vines on the estate, a single hectare of 30-year-old, dry-grown Pinot Noir vines. The block sits at 350 metres and faces east. The MV6 and 115 vines are rooted in clay, sandstone and quartz soils. The fruit is picked and sorted by hand. The lion’s share is destemmed (10% bunches) and after three weeks’ fermentation, the wine matures in barriques (for the first time 20% new) for eight months, followed by four months in tank to preserve freshness.

Jasper’s notes: The wine has bright natural acidity and red fruits, including cherries, cranberries and plums. It has an earthy core with forest floor adding layers of complexity.
