This brilliant Adelaide Hills Chardonnay was crafted to be as complex and layered as possible. A quarter of the juice was fermented in new French oak barriques - just enough to add some weight and spice without overpowering the fruit. It opens with a suggestion of flinty smoke before delving into flavours of white stone fruit, honeysuckle, lemon pith, apple pie and macadamia. All of this is complemented by the linear acidity and chalky texture of its long, mineral finish. Drinking well now, there's also potential to cellar this one for another 5-8 years. This is a precise and powerful Chardonnay that is sure to impress.
