Hand picked fruit, and whole-bunch pressed to tank, where it was left to settle overnight before being racked off gross lees into barrel (20% new). Left on fine lees for 12 months, with occasional battonage.

The soils of this vineyard are composed of clay and limestone, where winemaker Nathalie Bernard describes them as having a 'natural' irrigation caused by rain running off the higher sites on the slopes surrounding it; which certainly helps, given the recent warmer vintages of Burgundy.

2021, however, was a slightly cooler vintage than former years. As such, this wine exhibits a freshness, with brighter acidity and floral characteristics. Citrus aromas go hand in hand with a slight honey note too, which helps to round it out.

Will certainly develop well in the coming years.
