Description

We are proud to receive an allocation of these iconic Burgundies every year from Domaine Romanee Conti.  Please note that due to the exclusive nature of these wines, we want to make sure they arrive to you safely. We will reach out to you upon purchase to make suitable arrangements to ensure you receive them as intended.  Please note that we will need proper identification documentation in order to complete the purchase of this wine as this information will also need to be supplied to the Domaine.

Made in Romanee St-Vivant village located in Vosne-Romanee, a sub-region of northern Burgundy. There are only 7 producers in this area. Soil is rich in clay and the vineyard is located on a west facing hill. Rain often shifts clay deposits down the slope, retaining water and keeping the soil cool. This result in a slower maturation of the fruit and a retention of fresh acidity while the higher limestone concentration in the sub-soil is fast-draining and results in more concentrated, powerful wines. Vines age is 30 years. Decanter, 97 Points

'Romanée-St-Vivant went through malolactic later than the other DRC Grands Crus and was a little more backward and reductive when I tasted it from barrel. Fermented with 90% whole clusters and aged in new wood, it's paler than its stablemates, with refined red berry fruits, focused, mineral-edged acidity and a racy, chalky finish. Transparent wine making from a site that often produces the domaine's most elegant wine. Drinking Window 2026 - 2038.'  97 Points
