Pinot Noir
Domaine Derey Frères
France - Burgundy
Pinot - Medium
France

Description

Stock is very limited.

100% Pinot Noir with a beautiful garnet colour and aromas of red jammy fruit. The grapes, sourced from 30 year old vines, undergo maceration with partly whole bunches before being aged for 12 months in oak barrels. On the palate the wine offers a balanced combination of minerality and power, with a finish of pronounced tannins that are characteristic of this solid wine. It is recommended to cellar for 8 to 10 years (2026-2028).

Domaine Derey Frères' cellar is located in the village of Couchey, situated between Marsannay and Fixin. The family has a rich history of being vignerons, dating back to 1650. The domaine was officially named Derey Frères in the 1950s when brothers Albert and Maurice joined forces. The fifth generation owner, Pierre Derey, has now passed the reins to his three sons - Maxime, Romain, and Pierre-Marie - who work together seamlessly in both the vineyard and cellar. The whole domaine is organic in conversion - the first certified wines will be from the 2023 harvest.
