Pinot Gris
Ghost Rock
Tasmania
White Varietal - Dry
Australia

Description

The Arnold Family were pioneering growers and producers of the Cradle Coast wine Region of Northern Tasmania. Every vineyard is hand-built and hand-planted. 27 hectares of Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Pinot Gris, all high density trained. The Estate is now run by second generation winemaker Justin Arnold and his wife Alicia Peardon, who focuses on minimal intervention in the vineyard.

This Pinot Gris is harvested as late into the growing season as possible. Winemaking is simple but purposeful. The wine is pressed to tank and clarified, it than goes into a cool, controlled ferment for ten days.

Only 5% of the juice is pressed into 500L French Oak puncheons for wild fermentation. The resulting wine is very intense on the nose, showing pear and nectarine aromas. Palate is fresh with a perfect balance between acidity and residual sugar.
