Shiraz
Glaetzer-Dixon
Tasmania
Shiraz - Medium
Australia

Description

The Glaetzer Family made the difficult but rewarding move from Brandenburg, Germany to Barossa Valley in 1888. Now they've got a huge cult following in wine circles and are one of the most famous wine makers in the world. Nick Glaetzer has worked hard and has taken four generations of Barossa Shiraz winemaking knowledge and craftsmanship and applied it to to Shiraz from the Coal and Derwent Valleys in Southern Tasmania.

Nick's wines are typically tasting of a cool climate. However, the Mon Pere Shiraz is a tribute to Nick's father, the Baron of the Barossa, Colin Glaetzer. It's clear Nick has poured his very heart and soul into creating a Shiraz reminiscent of the juicy and warm flavours of the Barossa Valley, despite living in Tasmania. The Shiraz is packed with a multitude of red fruits, white pepper and spice. The final product reflects the intensity of the fruit, and the intensity with which he worked on this stunningly crafted wine.
