Description

This unique Pineau des Charentes was produced in Borderies in 1979, with grape must from the 1979 harvest, and cognac from 1978, with the vintage being validated by the DGCCRF. A must-try for the wine or spirit lover who has exhausted all other avenues, this lot was aged in a small clay cellar, in an old 40 hectolitre barrel which contained more than 200 litres of lees. It continues to be aged in a cellar in Chermignac, in very old 350-litre cognac barrels, and has been since 2013.

A fruity nose, with notes of pastry from the lees. On the palate, ripe fruit dominates, in conjunction with strong minerality. Next to no sugar is evident, with superb acidity driving it long.
