There is probably another grape that comes to mind when you think of German white wine but this sumptuous Chardonnay from the Rheinhessen region could very well change that. Plush yellow fruits and citrus initially dominate the palate but the wine's time spent in small barriques has also imparted a very beguiling element of smoke and spice. Bold and well-structured, this is a very impressive Chardonnay.
