Description

The Massale is a burst of bright aromas, featuring dark cherry, wild strawberry, and pomegranate, complemented by subtle earthy and savory spice hints, with a touch of oak toast lingering in the background.

The palate is generously fruity, showcasing morello cherry and raspberry flavours, while the supple yet savory tannins beautifully interplay with the layers of fruit. A lively cranberry-like acidity ties everything together. While it's enjoyable now, some medium-term cellaring will only enhance its complexity.

Sourced from Kooyong's Balnarring and Tuerong vineyards, it undergoes fermentation in open vats with wild yeasts for 15 to 18 days and matures for nine months in various French oak formats, including barriques, puncheons, and large foudres, with 10% being new oak.

The result is a vibrant garnet-hued wine with spices, earthy notes, florals, and hints of dried herbs on the nose, leading to a seamless palate with a soft texture, cushiony tannins, fresh acidity, and a delightful emergence of raspberry notes. There's plenty to admire in this wine.
