Few Australian Pinot Noirs have as much of a following as Mount Mary's and just one sip is all it takes to understand the hype. A seductively complex nose - cherry pie, baking spice, brambly undergrowth and a sense of walking through a rose garden on a warm day - precedes a palate that shows rich notes of ripe strawberry, tangy cranberry, rhubarb, mushroom, and biscotti. It finishes long, with fine-but-emphatic tannin and a surprisingly smoky edge.
