Blaufrankisch
Pittnauer
Austria - Burgenland
Red Varietal - Full Bodied
Austria

Description

On a mission to bring obscure Austrian reds to the world, Gerhard Pittnauer and his wife Brigitte are quickly making a name for themselves among wine lovers.

Blaufrankisch is a popular grape variety in Germany and Austria where it translates as "the blue grape of the French", but is little-known on our side of the world. All you really need to know is that this Pittnauer red is spicy, full-bodied and downright delicious. Regardless of where you're lucky enough to taste some, the Pittnauer Blaufrankisch drinks almost like a cross between a big McLaren Vale shiraz and a lighter version from Geelong - it's a middle-weight champion!

Don't wait around until someone else tells you about this "great Austrian red" they've discovered - get in first.
